Lockedin ai review: a deep dive

Lockedin AI caught my attention mainly because many users reported that they found their ideal jobs within three months of using it. But at the same there were people disliked it (rated it 1 star in Trustpilot and some reddit posts) and found other Lockdin ai alternatives.

Many others also mentioned that there are even better Lockedin AI alternatives like Linkjob AI, which have helped them land great jobs smoothly, and some even received offers with annual salaries exceeding $180,000.

These made me curious about whether Lockedin ai really helps people, especially those who feel nervous or unsure during job hunts. It turned out that Lockedin AI's normal mode (separate from the Stealth Mode) still risked being detected as a cheat tool.

Lockedin AI Review: Comments & Ratings

Before using LockedIn AI, I checked out Reddit and some other sites for reviews. I was trying to find the obvious flaws and the strengths it was most recognised for.

Some other AI tools that were doing the same thing have also experienced that extreme type of comment. In my Interview Coder review, I found one that had some negative posts on reddit, while some people posted it was nice and neat.

    Reddit Lockedin AI Comments

From the posts I've seen, LockedIn AI's reputation is in line with most AI interview assistants – it gets praise and criticism. I'm not the first to hear that users credit LockedIn AI with helping them ace interviews, online assessments and even get jobs, so it's nice to see the feedback is as good as it was:

people compared Lockedin AI with Sensei AI
user reported Lockedin AI as a powerful tool

But a lot of people have also been critical of it, saying it doesn't work very well:

people said Lockedin AI felt unfinished
one user complained about Lockedin ai's cancellation

Finished reading some posts, I figured out that Lockedin AI offers a stealth mode from its desktop application choice(some other choices like Linkjob AI provide an invisible interview experience from the start), so I turned to other rating websites to dig some real comments.

Lockedin AI User Ratings & Real Feedback

I checked out Trustpilot and other review sites. The feedback there is mostly positive. Users talk about how the platform helps them stay focused and calm during interviews. Some introverted users say they finally feel comfortable speaking up. They like the hints and coaching features because these tools make tough interviews less scary.

But after reading all the 5-star ratings, I've also seen some bad reviews recently, a bit worried about that.

Some users have reported that the software didn't work well and got overwhelmed by the interview's context:

people said Lockedin AI not helpful in the interviews

Others are saying the same things as people on Reddit, like how hard it is to cancel subscriptions and the poor customer service:

people shared the experience of Lockedin AI's poor service

One comment even says the developers are messing around with the ratings by deleting a lot of negative reviews:

people reminded others about Lockedin AI's red flag

After reading all these comments, I decided to try it myself and see if it's good or just hype. And that's why you are reading this article, I really tried it and was going to talk about my experience in the following paragraphs.

First-hand Lockedin AI Experience & My Feelings

    Lockedin AI's Browser-Based Interview Copilot

Lockedin AI's dashboard, jumped from its homepage

It's pretty obvious that Lockedin AI's web functionality depends on plugins and fixed dashboard buttons, just like what I found about Verve while writing that Verve AI review. It's great that it offers live/mock/code interview modes but this approach still carries significant risks.

Basically, I opened a mock interview video, switched on Lockedin AI's live interview session and selected share my full screen, as the preset said this would be for Affirm's software engineer behavioural interview. This meant I could try out Lockedin AI's features in a realistic setting and see if it could actually give reasonable and interview-appropriate responses.

sharing screen choices when using Lockedin AI(tab-based environment)
full screen sharing during a test interview using Lockedin AI

After testing it for a few minutes, I understood what LockedIn AI is good at:

    • It's really accurate when it comes to transcription, even if it's not perfectly in sync.

    • It automatically generates responses, starting them as soon as it detects that a question or description has finished, using the STAR method.

    • Answers were generated in a super quick way, faster than I expected.

But at the same time, I noticed there were clearly some disadvantages:

    • Most of the answers were quite vague and didn't really show how they're relevant to the job or the interview.

    • The answers were a bit hard to read and pretty much seemed like they were generated by GPT. (I reckon the model might be 4o-mini, and given not much training to suit in interviews)

    • It's pretty clear by the end that this was AI-generated content, with all the classic AI-style phrasing I could expect.

typical AI content:"which one would you prefer" from Lockedin AI
    • Even with browser extensions installed, I had to constantly switch between the interview window and the answer window, which made it completely visible to interviewers.

Then I arranged a meeting with my friend while using Lockedin AI, and it turned out my friend was confused and asked me why I was using a website to get answers. So obviously, this so-called live interview assistant can't really help in real interviews, as every interviewer could see me using Lockedin AI.

    Lockedin AI's Desktop Interview Helper

After testing the tab-based dashboard, I turned to the "stealth mode" page and downloaded Lockedin AI's desktop application. After all, if they provided an undetectable promise in that way, I could still accept it and give it a go.

And here was what I got:

Lockedin AI's desktop app and it till was seen

Unfortunately, they only provide limited service in a free trial, and since I could take a screenshot with its transparent window, it can be seen at any time in any interview if I shared my screen with someone.

Plus, I still didn't get a decent answer from Lockedin AI, as the GPT-style answers could be spotted immediately once I tried to read all the text.

Basically, I don't think that LockedIn AI offers a good "invisible" interview experience right now. From what I've seen, it can be pretty useful for regular phone interviews or ones without screen sharing, as long as you debug the model beforehand and treat its answers only as references. It's way quicker than going through the hassle of querying GPT myself, and I can have a look at questions that interviewers have asked before.

    Lockedin AI's Price & Value

The official website says that Lockedin AI has three different subscription plans: Unlimited credit and lifetime membership. Here's how they appear:

    Paid Plan

    monthly

    3 months

    unlimited

    $119.88/mo

    $79.99/mo

    credits

    $69.99/mo

    $49.99/mo

If paid for a lifetime plan, then it requires$1499.25.

Obviously, if it helps me get a good job, the small subscription fee is nothing. I know LinkedIn's refund policy seems a bit dodgy (from reddit Lockedin reviews), but I'd still spend the money if it got me a job paying more than half my salary – that's how much more the subscription costs!

But based on my experience, I just can't trust its paid model to deliver a better experience. I mean, the answers it generates and its detection-bypass invisible assistance – all this sounds more like hype than substance, doesn't it?

On top of the poor after-sales service, I've had to look for other AI interview assistant options, and that's when I came across Linkjob AI.

Possible Lockedin Alternative in Live Interview Copilot

I used to test many interview copilot saying that they are completely invisible to interviewers, but turned out no one was capable of that. I even wrote some reviews telling people about their pros and cons, like that Cluely review testing its invisibility, and also a Sensei AI review with a detailed explanation about detection sadbox.

Among all the live interview copilots, Linkjob AI stands out and helped me in different interviews and land a decent job.

Why is LinkJob AI the Perfect Lockedin AI Alternative?

Linkjob AI features a lightweight, transparent overlay and ultra-low-latency responses, enabling users to receive customized answers, code snippets, and STAR-structured guidance—all completely invisible to interviewers.

During real-time interviews and coding assessments, LinkJob AI runs completely invisibly without being detected at all. Its Dock icon can be hidden, and the answer box features a top floating layer design that effectively evades detection by underlying online assessment platforms and meeting software. Additionally, this feature supports cursor invisibility, further reducing the risk of exposure and ensuring secure use.

In terms of undetectability, LinkJob AI works with all common office scenarios, covering meeting platforms (Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Amazon Chime, Slack, etc.) and online assessment platforms (HackerRank, CodeSignal, CoderPad, CoderByte, Sova, etc.). It requires no additional plugins for seamless integration and use.

If you want an AI assistant that is truly 100% invisible and undetectable during interviews, LinkJob AI is a highly worthwhile Lockedin AI alternative for you. And if you want something capable of more things, like auto apply, then click here to read the 5 best Lockedin AI alternatives.

    FAQ

How much does LockedIn AI cost?

I tried the free tier first. If you want advanced coaching, you can upgrade. Prices start at $49.99 per month up to $1499.25 for a lifetime plan.

Does LockedIn AI help with technical interviews?

It can help to some degree, but to get further professional help, I think it's better choose a real-time interview helper that specializes in coding interviews, such as Linkjob AI.

Are my interviews safe with LockedIn AI?

LockedIn AI's website dashboard, after some tests, turned out to be not very reliable, as interviewers can see the answer tab once I switched the tab. For the desktop application, I still found the same problem, so it was not as safe as I thought.
